If you haven't read the fic, the Freedom Fighters are filling in elemental slots that are restricted to Fire, Water, Wind, Light, and Metal. Ideally, of course, I'd have Sonic as Wind, but the fic calls for -Tails- to be wind, so...Nicole assigned them as she saw fit.
If Sonic looks like he's having trouble, good, because he is. This almost kills him, because he ends up losing his focus and the spell tries to eat him alive. Mmm, baked hedgie pie.
