This is my Table of Contents for my nine-chapter fanfiction entitled Kitsune: A Tailsish Fanfic From here, you can go to any chapter or illustration you please. Every chapter has its own illustration, and no chapter is shorter than five pages or longer than seven. This fanfiction is Complete. Over. Done. Fini. Concluded.

Despite the name of the fic, while Tails is definitely involved, there are many chapters where he has little screentime while other things are happening. Every canon character involved in this has their moment, it’s not JUST all about Tails. By necessity, I do have some original/fan characters in here, but don’t worry, this fic is not really about them.

This was originally going to be the illustration for Chapter Six, but after I inked it, I decided it would make an excellent Table of Contents eyecatch. The picture had less to do with the actual events of the story than did the other illustrations. This was more…I dunno, fantasy I guess, and my mind started coming up with all kinds of sub-stories for ancient Japanese Freedom Fighters and stuff. XD

These are actually clothes the Freedom Fighters wore at some point during the fic, though the weapons are for the picture only.

Tails-The Page
Regular kimono, with a traditionally painted bow, though the shape is more European than Japanese. Japanese bows are very strange looking, and I just couldn’t get it right, so I ended up giving up. Why a bow and arrows? Well, Tails FLIES, come on, he could totally wreak havoc with those.

Antoine-The Samurai
Kamishimi, samurai wear. He’s the swordsman of the group, so his role seemed pretty obvious to me. I did NOT give him the traditional Samurai hair style. That involves shaving the top of the head, and Antoine would kill me dead for that.

Bunnie-The Handmaiden
This fantasy-modifed aodai is a Vietnamese garment, not Japanese. Bunnie gets to be different, because I say so. She’s weilding a yari, a type of three-pronged spear.

Sonic-The Ninja
Regular kimono and bearing throwing knives. Why? Well, he’s fast, and throwing knives are fast. His clothes aren’t black and stuff because, like I said, this picture is showcasing the clothes from the fic, and also, regardless of what Hollywood says, ninja pretty much wore regular clothes most of the time. They were supposed to be hiding amongst regular people, you see, not standing out.

Sally-The Princess
Betcha saw that coming. Her clothing is called junihitoe, or ‘twelve-layer robe’. Stunningly expensive, very heavy and cumbersome, and only worn by the very rich or royal. I could not find any references of someone sitting DOWN in a junihitoe, so I did the best I could. For all I know, they can’t sit. That acorn-emblazoned piece on the front is an addition and not on real junihitoe, but the rest should be pretty accurate. The fan is part of the traditional getup, but of course, since Sally is anything but a helpless maiden, hers gets to be a razor-edged war fan.

I think it’d be fun to do a set involving characters not shown here, like Rotor, Amy, Shadow, etc. ^_^

I have many fanfics to catch up on reading, so I may have to update this list later after I’ve read some.
